Building and Construction
What we do
The building division ensures safety in new buildings and other construction by reviewing and issuing building permits and by regularly inspecting the construction. We are responsible for reviewing construction plans and progress to ensure it complies with the Ontario Building Code. We also enforce certain municipal by-laws.
Our division consists of the Chief Building Official, three building inspectors, and the Development Analyst. If you have questions about the project you're planning, please start with our Building Permits page. You can also email the Development Analyst or call 613-386-7351, ext. 128.
You can get building permit information at the Manitou Crescent office, 18 Manitou Crescent West, Amherstview. You don't need an appointment to pick up or drop off a building permit application. You can pick up a permit package at the office or download the permit package depending on what type of project you're planning.
