The purpose of the virtual public meeting is to provide the public with an opportunity to understand and comment on the proposed Plans.

Purpose and Effect of the Community Improvement Plans

The purpose of the proposed Community Improvement Plans is to assist in the revitalization and encourage investment or reinvestment in Loyalist Township. Moreover, the Community Improvement Plans will provide grant and assistance programs to aid in the development of industrial uses and brownfield redevelopment.

Industrial Community Improvement Plan

The proposed Industrial Community Improvement Plan aims to create tax increment equivalent grant incentives to develop vacant or underutilized lands into productive industrial uses.

Brownfield Community Improvement Plan

The proposed Brownfield Community Improvement Plan is to facilitate the rehabilitation of properties that may be contaminated and are currently underutilized, derelict, or vacant, through the means of four grant opportunities.

Council will also consider passing a by-law to designate the entire Township as a Community Improvement Project Area in order to adopt and implement the Community Improvement Plans.

The Notice of Public Meeting provides more information on how to attend the meeting and/or provide comment on the proposed Community Improvement Plans.
