On Saturday, October 14th, Loyalist Township Emergency Services (LTES) will be hosting a public open house at the LTES Fire Training Centre, 748 County Road 6, Odessa.
The Open House is presented in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week (FPW), held from October 9-15, 2022. This year’s FPW campaign, “Cooking safety starts with YOU. Pay attention to fire prevention™,” works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe when cooking.
The gates to the Training Centre will be open to the public from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. LTES personnel will present several live demonstrations throughout the day. There will also be a variety of activities for guests to participate in.
Live Demonstrations
12 p.m. – Auto Extrication
1 p.m. – Cooking Fire/Safety – Burn Pod
2 p.m. – Smoke Alarms Save Lives! – Burn Pod
Activities Throughout the Day
You’re invited to participate in the following attractions throughout the Open House:
- Fire truck tours
- Photo ops
- Extinguish live vehicle fires (hose play)
- Visit with Sparky
- UTV rides
- Public education table/handouts/fire prevention giveaways for all ages
- Loyalist Township Come Out & Play Trailer
