TAKE NOTICE that the Corporation of Loyalist Township proposes to surplus and sell part of a closed Township Road allowance. The road allowance in question is a closed road allowance that runs parallel to County Road 4 between the Millhaven Road and the CN rail line. The portion being sold is the southern portion adjacent to the CN rail line. The property is legally described as:

Road Allowance Between Lot 19 & 20 Concession 2 Ernestown, Closed by LA162597 Between Millhaven Road & CN Rail; Loyalist.

Take notice that Council for Loyalist Township has scheduled a Hybrid Meeting on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. or shortly thereafter to consider a resolution to declare a portion of the land described above as surplus and to permit the sale and transfer of the land.  To participate or view the meeting, you can attend at 263 Main Street Odessa or Via Zoom. A Zoom link will be posted on the council agenda and the council agenda can be accessed at the following link: https://loyalist.civicweb.net/Portal/

Take notice that in accordance with Township By-law 2004-33, the intention is that the municipality will declare a portion of the closed road allowance as surplus property and it is the intent to sell the land to the adjacent owner.

The plans describing which parts of the road allowance are proposed to be closed are available for inspection at the Township Municipal Office at 18 Manitou Crescent, Amherstview, Ontario K7N 1S3, Monday-Thursday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Any questions can be directed to James Griffin, Planning Supervisor at 613-386-7351 ext. 140.

It is recommended that any person wishing to be heard or comment on the proposed sale is requested to submit comments in writing by 1:00 p.m. on June 23rd, 2025, to the Clerk of the Township.
