Collection Begins May 11

Leaf and yard waste collection will begin on Monday, May 11.

Please ensure all bags are placed at the curb no later than 7:00 AM on your collection day.

Collection is completed on a rotating basis across the Township and typically takes approximately 3 weeks to complete.

Register with Health Care Connect

Loyalist Township is pleased to announce the arrival of three new family physicians as part of its ongoing physician recruitment efforts.

People who do not currently have a primary care provider are encouraged to register with Health Care Connect, a program that helps connect patients with family doctors accepting new patients. The new physicians are required to give priority to Loyalist residents.

The 2026 Voting Day will take place on October 26, 2026. Voters will be able to elect the next Council of Loyalist Township, as well as four (4) trustees to school boards. 

  • Mayor to be elected at large

  • One Councillor for Ward 2 to be elected by ward
  • Three Councillors for Ward 3 to be elected by ward

Voting Methods

On August 12, Council enacted a by-law to authorize the use of internet and telephone only. Electors will be able to cast their ballot online from anywhere, anytime using a computer, tablet or smartphone! This is a safe, secure, environmentally friendly and contactless method of alternative voting. Voter help centers will be available during the Voting Period. There are no paper ballots! 

Election Accessibility 

Pursuant to s.12.1 of the Municipal Elections Act, the Clerk has established a plan to ensure that the 2026 Election is accessible to all voters and candidates. All information and forms available on the Township website can be made available in alternative formats upon request.

Key dates

  • May 1, 2026: First day candidates can file nomination papers and first day third party advertisers can register.
  • August 21, 2026: Last day candidates can file nomination papers, by 2:00 p.m.
  • October 17, 2026: Advanced Voting Opens
  • October 23, 2026: Last day third party advertisers can register.
  • October 26, 2026: Voting Day
  • November 15, 2026: New term of Council commences
