Physician Recruitment | Loyalist Township

Loyalist Township is committed to ensuring our residents have access to high-quality primary care close to home. To support this goal, the Township offers a physician recruitment incentive designed to assist physicians establish their practice within our growing community.

A total incentive of $100,000 per physician is available. This incentive will be pro-rated based on the number of patients rostered, with physicians rostering 1,200 or more patients receiving the full incentive of $20,000 per year for five years.

To receive the incentive, physicians will be asked to sign a Return for Service Agreement with the Township. This agreement includes a commitment to roster patients from Loyalist Township and to practice within the municipality for a minimum of five years.

All family physicians re-locating to Loyalist Township or taking over a practice in Loyalist Township are eligible to receive the incentive.

In addition to a financial incentive, physicians can access the Dual Career Support Program. This made-in-Kingston initiative assists partners of relocating physicians in finding employment and connecting with the community.

A Place to Connect

As Loyalist Township continues to grow, Township Council recognized the importance of revitalizing the W.J. Henderson Community Centre. The revitalization project, which began in 2024, includes improvements to the ice rink and viewing areas, the addition of community rooms, the creation of a Gord Downie & Wenjack Legacy Space, and a brand-new aquatics centre scheduled to open in the summer of 2026. The Community Centre also hosts the County’s library.

This centrally located community hub truly serves as the heart of the community.
