Deputy Mayor Nathan Townend Appointed to New Role with the County of Lennox and Addington

Today, the County of Lennox and Addington announced the appointment of Nathan Townend as its new Director of Communications and Community Development.


Nathan served for eight years on Loyalist Township Council and four years on Lennox and Addington County Council, most recently as Deputy Mayor of Loyalist Township and Warden of Lennox and Addington County. Prior to accepting this position, he officially resigned as Deputy Mayor of Loyalist Township and Warden for Lennox and Addington County.


“On behalf of Loyalist Township Council and our entire community, I want to congratulate Nathan on his new appointment with the County of Lennox and Addington,” said Loyalist Township Mayor Jim Hegadorn. “His dedication to public service and his commitment to improving the lives of residents have made a meaningful and lasting impact on our municipality. We are grateful for his leadership, collaboration, and advocacy on behalf of Loyalist. We look forward to the continued positive impact he will have in his new role.”


In accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Act, 2001, the resulting vacancy on Loyalist Township Council will be addressed through the legislated process. Council will determine the appropriate course of action to fill the vacancy at a future meeting, in keeping with the requirements set out in the Act.
