Household Hazardous Waste Event
Loyalist Township is pleased to announce a new Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Saturday, August 22, 2026, providing residents with a safe, free, and environmentally responsible way to dispose of hazardous household materials.
The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the County Road 6 Public Works Garage in Odessa. To maximize convenience and safety, the event will operate via a drive-through setup where residents remain safely inside their vehicles while trained personnel unload and organize the materials. Items such as old paint, solvents, oil, consumer batteries, pesticides, propane cylinders, and antifreeze will be accepted.
"Protecting our environment starts right at home," said Loyalist Township Mayor, Jim Hegadorn. "This event gives our community a convenient opportunity to clear out their storage spaces safely, keeping hazardous chemicals out of our landfills, local soils, and waterways."
The collection event is open to Loyalist Township residents only and is free of charge.
Residents are encouraged to begin gathering materials now and watch for additional event information in the coming weeks.
