Loyalist Township Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event November 14

Loyalist Township is hosting another Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Saturday, November 14, giving residents a free, convenient way to safely dispose of hazardous household materials.

The drive-through event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the County Road 6 Public Works Garage in Odessa. Loyalist Township residents can remain in their vehicles while trained staff unload and organize accepted materials.

Accepted items include paints and coatings, solvents, oil and oil filters, household batteries, antifreeze, aerosol cans, propane cylinders, fertilizers, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, fluorescent lamps, car batteries and other designated household hazardous materials.

“Household products that are useful in our homes can require special handling when they are no longer needed,” said Loyalist Township Mayor, Jim Hegadorn. “This collection day gives residents a straightforward way to dispose of those materials responsibly while helping protect our local environment.”

Residents should keep products in their original containers whenever possible, secure lids tightly, keep containers upright and never mix chemicals. Sharps must be sealed in a rigid container. Commercial and industrial waste is not accepted.

Residents are encouraged to review the complete accepted and not-accepted materials lists before attending. Full event details and preparation instructions are available at Household Hazardous Waste Events | Engage Loyalist.
