Join Loyalist Township in celebrating Earth Week with three exciting community events happening from April 18 to 25! 

From community clean-ups and recycling initiatives to thrifting and giving back, there are plenty of ways to get involved and make a positive impact. No matter your interests, there’s something for everyone to take part in and help support a greener community.

Electronic Waste, Battery, Food, & Textile Recycling Drive
Saturday April 18^th, 2025
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Amherstview Fire Station, 363 Amherst Drive, Amherstview

It’s time to declutter your home and make a positive impact on the environment! Loyalist Township’s annual recycling drive invites residents to responsibly dispose of electronic waste (e-waste), batteries, gently used clothing, and non-perishable food items. Visit the Amherstview Fire Station anytime during the event to drop off your items. Township staff will be on hand to assist with e-waste and battery disposal, while the Loyalist Community Sharing Centre will collect gently used clothing and textiles. The Amherstview Lions Club will be accepting non-perishable food donations to support local families in need.

Loyalist Township Community Cleanup:
Cleanup Period: Sunday, April 19 to Saturday, April 25 (Earth Week)

Loyalist Township is hosting a week‑long Community Cleanup, encouraging residents to actively participate in removing litter and debris from public spaces across the Township. The program supports environmental stewardship, community pride, and civic engagement while offering flexible participation opportunities for residents of all ages. 

• Registration & Supply Pick-up Period: Tuesday, April 7 to Saturday, April 25 
• Cleanup Period: The cleanup is self-directed, and residents may participate anytime during Earth Week (Sunday, April 19 to Saturday, April 25)

 Curbside Giveaway Day:
Saturday, April 25^th, 2025
7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Curbside Giveaway Day provides an opportunity for residents to put out gently used items that are still in good condition and can be reused by others. Whether you're decluttering your home or looking for something new, this is the perfect way to recycle items and keep them out of landfills. Simply place your items curbside with a visible “FREE” sign and pass them along to someone who will make use of them. Starting in 2025, Loyalist Township has a new Curbside Giveaway Day map that allows community members to pin the location of the free items they have put curbside, which will help others easily plan their treasure hunt on Giveaway Day!
