Notice of Construction - Sherwood Avenue and Park Crescent

Loyalist Township has retained D Rock paving to complete the reconstruction of Sherwood Avenue from Manitou Crescent West to Manitou Crescent East as well as Park Crescent from Manitou Crescent East to approximately 10m north of Briscoe Street.

D Rock Paving is expected to begin mobilizing on Sherwood Avenue on May 15, with construction continuing until about June 25. Work on Park Crescent is expected to start June 26 and continue until August 7.

Construction timelines may change due to weather or other unforeseen issues.

Project Details

Work on Sherwood Avenue will include:

• Removal of existing asphalt
• Improvements to the road base
• Placement of new asphalt
• Installation of bus pads and shelters
• Minor ditch cleanouts
• Replacement of culverts and storm structures where required

Work on Park Crescent will include:

• Removal of existing asphalt
• Installation of new granular material and a synthetic geo grid
• Curb infills
• Placement of new asphalt

D Rock Paving and Loyalist Township will work to communicate with residents who will be individually impacted by the work with things such as new driveway culverts, ditching or temporarily losing driveway access as work passes by your residence.

What to Expect

• Minor traffic delays during construction.
• Temporary road closures while cross culverts are being replaced. Any closure will be communicated ahead of time.
• Emergency services, waste collection and mail delivery will not be impacted
• If you have a paved driveway and Township staff need to remove the end of it for culvert installation, it will be repaved prior to job completion

Vehicles parked on the road impeded construction and can lead to project delays. On street parking will not be permitted during construction operations. Any vehicles left on the street may be towed at the owner’s expense.
