Notice of Culvert Replacement and Road Closure

Please be advised that Loyalist Township Public Works staff will be replacing two cross-culverts in the vicinity of Switzerville Road and Newburgh Road intersection on Tuesday, November 10. In the event of inclement weather, the work will take place on Wednesday, November 11. 

Preparation work will begin on Monday, November 9 and will continue for approximately one week following the culvert installations. Following the culvert work, the road will be widened and the grade of the intersection raised to improve sightlines and address drainage issues.

Due to the location of the work, and the limited road platform, there will be a full road closure in effect from 7:30am to 5:00pm on Tuesday, November 10. Switzerville Road will be closed from civic #1933 to civic #1870 and Newburgh Road will be closed from civic #1941 to the intersection of Switzerville Road. Traffic will not be able to pass through the work zone and the intersection will be blocked for the duration of the closure.

Loyalist Township has already been in communication with Tri Board Transportation, and they are making alternate pick-up arrangements with affected students.
