Tree Removal in Stella (Hydro One Pole Relocation – Front Road)

Additional tree removal is scheduled for Monday, May 4 in the Village of Stella as part of ongoing Hydro One pole relocation work along Front Road.

During on-site work, Hydro One identified additional conflicts that must be addressed to safely install and relocate utility infrastructure.

Earlier information suggested no further removals would be needed; however, these additional removals were identified only after Hydro One began work on site.

The Township has worked with Hydro One to minimize removals wherever possible. Trees are removed only when required to meet operational and safety standards.

What to expect:

• Crews working near the road allowance on Front Road in Stella.
• Intermittent noise and brief, localized disruptions while trees are removed and materials are cleared.
• Please follow all on-site signage and directions from crews for everyone’s safety.

The work supports utility relocation in a constrained right-of-way and helps enable longer-term roadway and pedestrian improvements in Stella. Undergrounding utilities is limited by technical and financial constraints.

Tree replacement and canopy: The Township remains committed to tree replacement and canopy preservation where feasible, consistent with the Township’s Climate Action Plan.
