Violet Landfill Update

Beginning Tuesday, October 7 through October 21, the Township will be moving forward with landfill shaping work at Violet Landfill as part of the requirements under our Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) for the site. The cooler, drier fall weather provides the best window to complete this work with minimal impact to local residents.

Work at the site is anticipated Tuesday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

During this time:

• Residents will be accommodated at the scale house.
• Access to the back of the landfill will not be permitted.
• Please be patient with staff as we adjust operations to serve you up front.

Residents may notice some odour as fill areas are moved and shaped. We will work closely with our contracted equipment operators to limit impacts as much as possible.
