Admission standards are in place for your safety and enjoyment. We will enforce our supervision and ratio requirements. A caregiver must be at least 12 years of age and is responsible for the children in their care while in the facility. Swimmers will be given a GREEN or RED wristband after attempting our facility swim test to assist lifeguards with enforcing our admission standards.
Ages 6 years and under
Children 6 years and under must be with a caregiver in arm's reach in and out of the water.
Supervision Ratio: 1 caregiver for every 2 swimmers or 1 caregiver for every 8 swimmers if the swimmers are in lifejackets.
Children 6 years and under may attempt the facility swim test. If they pass, they will receive a GREEN wristband and be able to swim in the deep end of the pool however a caregiver MUST be within arms reach in and out of the water with the same supervision ratios as above. Children who do not pass the swim test will receive a RED wristband and be required to stay in shallow water.
Ages 7 – 9 years
Children, ages 7-9 years who pass the facility swim test, will receive a GREEN wristband and be able to swim in the pool alone with a caregiver remaining in the pool area.
Children, ages 7-9 years who do not pass the facility swim test, will receive a RED wristband and must remain in the shallow end of the pool and leisure pool. They must also be accompanied by a caregiver within arms reach in and out of the water with a ratio of 1 caregiver for every 2 swimmers or 1 caregiver for every 8 swimmers if the swimmers are in lifejackets.
Ages 10+ years
Children, ages 10 years old or more, can swim alone in the shallow end of the pool and the leisure pool. To swim in the deep end, you must pass the facility swim test and receive a GREEN wristband. If you do not pass the facility swim test, you will receive a RED wristband and be required to stay in the shallow end of the pool or the leisure pool.
Rentals
For pool rentals, the supervision ratio changes to 1 caregiver for every 4 swimmers not in lifejackets or 1 caregiver for every 8 swimmers in lifejackets. The same age categories apply.
All school rentals other than high school swim teams must have swimmers complete a facility swim test for every visit.
Facility Swim Test
Please note that swimmers of ANY age may be asked to complete a facility swim test at the discretion of the lifeguards on deck. Swim tests are not recorded and swimmers who require them will be asked to do them each time they come to the pool.
Swimmers who pass the facility swim test will receive a GREEN wristband and be able to swim in the deep end of the pool. Swimmers who DO NOT pass the facility swim test will receive a RED wristband and be required to stay in shallow water.
The facility swim test requires swimmers to swim 1 full length of the pool (25m) without stopping. Swimmers must show that they can swim with their face in the water during the test.
