Barr Homes Aquatic Centre Opening July 20, 2026

Loyalist Township, ON – Loyalist Township is excited to announce that the new Barr Homes Aquatic Centre, located at the W.J. Henderson Community Centre in Amherstview, will officially open to the public on July 20, 2026. 

The highly anticipated facility will provide residents and visitors with new opportunities for recreation, fitness, and aquatic programming. As opening day approaches, staff are busy preparing the facility to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all users. 

Residents may notice activity in and around the pool over the coming weeks as aquatic staff complete mandatory training, testing, and operational preparations. These activities are essential to ensure the facility is fully ready to welcome the community. 

Summer Swimming Lessons and Leadership Course Registration Dates: 
 
July 6 – Registration opens for Loyalist Township residents and City of Kingston residents 
July 9 – Registration opens for non-residents
