 In the event of an after hours emergency, involving roads, water/sewer service, or a Township facility - please call 613-507-3069

2025 Holiday Collection Schedule

Garbage and recycling collection schedules will be affected during the weeks of December 22 and December 29. Collection will occur one day earlier for all routes.

Zone 1 (regular collection day is Tuesday) will be collected on Monday, December 22 and Monday, December 29. 

Zone 2 (regular collection day is Wednesday) will be collected on Tuesday, December 23 and Tuesday December 30. 

Zone 3 (regular collection day is Thursday) will be collected on Wednesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 31.

New in 2026

Ferry Transit Card

Amherst Island Ferry – New Transit Card
We’re excited to announce that the Amherst Island Ferry is moving toward reloadable Smart Ferry Transit cards, which are customized gift cards issued by Square, making fare payment more convenient and flexible for riders. This Transit Card will replace the 25-bulk ticket package.
Passengers will be able to choose between:
  • Digital transit cards, stored directly in your Apple or Google Wallet, or 
  • Physical reloadable cards for easy scan and go.
Digital cards are available for purchase online and will be active for use starting January 5, 2026. Physical cards will be available for purchase from ferry pursers starting January 5.
