Friday August 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. was the deadline to file the necessary papers, declarations and fees to become a candidate for Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillor and School Board Trustee in the upcoming Municipal and School Board Election.

List of Candidates

The list of candidates running in the 2022 Municipal Election has been certified by the Clerk's Division. The list of certified candidates​ includes the name and date of nomination filing, as well as other contact information (address, email, social media) as provided by the candidate can be found at www.loyalist.ca/LoyalistVotes.

Voting Period

The voting period runs from October 17, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. until October 24, 2022 at 8:00 p.m.

Voting Methods

Internet and Telephone Voting

Eligible electors will receive, through the mail, a sealed and personalized Voters Information Letter. This letter will direct electors to a designated website or telephone number to vote. The Township first utilized voting by internet and telephone in the 2014 election. Vote online anywhere, anytime using a computer, tablet or smartphone! This is a safe, secure, environmentally friendly and contactless method of alternative voting.

Eligible voters may vote by Internet/Telephone by attending a Voter Help Centre at the following times:

October 17, 18, 20, 21, 2022 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

October 19, 2022 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Election Day - October 24, 2022 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

In Person - Paper Voting

Eligible electors will receive, through the mail, a sealed and personalized Voters Information Letter. This letter will direct electors who wish to cast a paper ballot on October 24 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. EDT to attend a designated voting location. Please bring this letter with you on Voting Day.
