Renewable Energy Fund Grant
The Renewable Energy Fund Grant Policy establishes principles, standards and guidelines for the maintenance and accounting of the funding received through the “Community Benefit Agreement” with Windlectric Inc. and the “Community Vibrancy Fund Agreement” with Kingston Solar GP Inc.
The policy sets guidelines for the use of funds during and beyond the terms of the agreements, with the intent to provide financial assistance to local community groups and organizations within Loyalist Township.
Renewable Energy Fund Grant Committee |
The Renewable Energy Fund Grant Committee is an administrative committee that is representative of the community and, as such, is recognized as the legitimate means for reviewing grant applications and making sound recommendations to Council. The Committee plays an important role by enabling the community to participate more directly in the decision-making process. It’s comprised of two sub-committees: Ward 1 (Island) Committee and Ward 2 & 3 Committee. |

Applications |
Loyalist Township is now accepting applications for the Renewable Energy Fund Grant. Applications are available twice a year, with yearly amounts disbursed equally (50/50) for each application period. Application DeadlinesApplications for the first funding period will be available the first Monday in the month of January and applications will be due no later than February 1 of the same year. Applications for the second period will be made available the first Monday in the month of May and due no later than June 1 of the same year. All applications shall be submitted on the appropriate application form and should indicate which funding stream is being applied for. |
Project Evaluation Forms |
In accordance with the Renewable Energy Vibrancy Policy, grant recipients are required to submit a final Project Evaluation Form. Grant recipients should refer to section 5.0 of the Renewable Energy Vibrancy Policy to review their obligations for receiving a grant. Project Evaluation Forms can be submitted to clerk@loyalist.ca. |

Council Ad Hoc Grant/Donation Request
Council Ad Hoc Grant/Donation Request Policy |
The Council Ad Hoc Grant/Donation Request Policy is intended to provide guidance to members of Council for requests they receive in regard to donations or grants that fall outside of the scope of other grant programs established in the Township, such as the Renewable Energy Grant Fund Policy or Heritage Grant Policy. |
