Candidate Information
The nomination period for the 2022 election begins May 2 and ends August 19, 2022. Individuals wishing to register as candidates in the 2022 municipal election must ensure their nomination papers are filed within this window and cannot begin their campaign until papers are filed with the Township Clerks’ Office.
The Loyalist Township website will be continually updated when any new information becomes available.

Filing a Nomination |

To become a candidate for Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillor or School Board Trustee you must file a nomination paper with the Township Clerk, at the Odessa Administration Offices, 263 Main Street, Odessa. Nominations for Mayor, Deputy Mayor or Councillor must include the endorsement form signed by 25 eligible electors and the applicable filing fee. Nomination papers may be filed from Monday, May 2, 2022 until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022. To ensure adequate time to review your nomination papers, an appointment is required. Endorsement of Nomination FormCandidates running for Mayor, Deputy Mayor or Council are required to submit an Endorsement of Nomination Form with at least 25 declaration of endorsements. An in-person information session for potential Candidates and Third-Party Advertisers from the municipalities within the County of Lennox & Addington is scheduled for Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the Strathcona Paper Center Banquet Hall (16 McPherson Drive, Napanee). More details regarding this session will be available closer to the date. |
