Recycling Transition

Takes Effect July 1

Loyalist Township's recycling program is now managed by Circular Materials, the administrator of the common collection system and a national not-for-profit organization that is committed to building an efficient and effective recycling system in Ontario.

For all recycling inquires including a missed recycling collection residents are asked to contact Emterra’s customer service at 1-888-597-1541 or customercareont@emterra.ca

Transportation

Loyalist Township has a regular ferry service to Amherst Island and a bus service that links Amherstview and Kingston and connects key areas in the Township.

Amherst Island Ferry

The Amherst Island Ferry provides a vital year-round connection between Millhaven on the mainland and Stella on Amherst Island. The service leaves Stella on the hour and Millhaven on the half-hour and takes 20 minutes. We operate the ferry service on behalf of the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.

Transit Service

We offer a range of public transit services to meet various needs. The transit system includes regular bus routes that connect key areas within Loyalist, making it easier for you to access essential services, shopping, and recreational facilities. We also prioritise accessibility by providing specialized transit options for individuals with disabilities
