Township trees
Trees that are on the municipal right-of-way are owned and maintained by the Township. This includes most trees on roadsides and boulevards.
We maintain them once there is a sufficient number and budget is available for tree maintenance unless the tree poses a significant threat to safety or infrastructure. We are not responsible for trimming trees on private property.

Community Tree Initiative
Loyalist Township has successfully delivered its Community Tree Initiative for the past two years, supporting residents in purchasing larger-caliper trees at a reduced, subsidized cost. This program not only makes tree planting more accessible for the community, but also supports the Township’s broader goal of replacing trees lost along roadways and enhancing overall canopy cover. By encouraging residents to participate, the initiative helps maintain a clean, green, and healthy environment while contributing to long-term environmental sustainability and community pride.
