New to Loyalist
Welcome to Loyalist Township!
Our growing community is between Napanee and Kingston and set on the north shore of Lake Ontario. We are a blend of urban and rural, modern and historic, with the Amherst Island community a short ferry ride from Milhaven.
The Loyalist Parkway runs along the lakefront with several pretty parks you can visit to enjoy the shoreline. Highway 401 cuts across the north end of Loyalist and gives easy access to Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal.
Amherstview, Bath, Odessa are the three mainland centres in Loyalist with a few hamlets scattered throughout.
Loyalist gets its name from the American Loyalists, both soldiers and civilians, who settled here during and after the American Revolution. The United Empire Loyalists of today are their descendants.
