W.J. Henderson Community Centre 50th Anniversary Celebration!

Join us on Sunday, October 4th, as we celebrate 50 years of the W.J. Henderson Community Centre and the important role it has played in bringing our community together!

Celebrating the Past, Building the Future!

For five decades, the W.J. Henderson Community Centre has been a place for recreation, connection, and community. This year’s celebration is especially meaningful as we mark 50 years of memories while celebrating the completion of an exciting revitalization of the facility.

Construction on the revitalization project began in August 2024 and has officially been completed with the opening of the Barr Homes Aquatic Centre in the summer of 2026.

With the revitalization now complete, there’s no better time to celebrate 50 years of memories, milestones, and community spirit — while looking ahead to an exciting future.

Come celebrate this special milestone with us on October 4th.

Join us for a fun-filled day featuring live music, games, activities, free public swim and skate, a BBQ Fundraiser, The Makers Market, and our Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony!

Hold the Door! Is a three-piece instrumental pop and smooth jazz band from Kingston, ON.

Volunteer at this event

Community events are not possible without the help of volunteers. Donate your time by joining the volunteer team for this year's celebration. We are looking for volunteers aged 14 years and over to lend a helping hand at this event.

If you are attending a schedule ice time on the morning of October 4th, 2026, please park at the lower entrance of the W.J. Henderson Community Centre.

Barr Homes Aquatic Centre, Swim Cancelations:
Please note that the Sunday, October 4, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sensory Friendly Public Swim has been canceled due to the W.J. Henderson Community Centre 50th Celebration.
