Loyalist Township is home to an elaborate trail system that can be enjoyed by motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. The trails of Loyalist Township provide an excellent means for both tourists and residents to witness the area's majestic scenery.

Parrott's Bay

Parrott's Bay is the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority's newest conservation area. It has 75.6 hectares of woods and wetlands with beautiful waterfront views. Parrott's Bay is a great place to get out and enjoy nature. Please note the Conservation Area has limited facilities. There are no washrooms or facilities on this property. For further information about Parrott's Bay, please visit their website.

Loyalist Parkway

The Loyalist Parkway follows the course of Loyalist settlement, which commenced in 1784, following the American Revolution. As a living monument to the Loyalist settlers, it presents a rich source of information for those with an interest in heritage tourism, Canadian history, early Canadian architecture, or genealogy for those following their United Empire Loyalist roots. As an alternate route between Trenton and Kingston, it offers a wide choice of accommodation, sightseeing and recreation for the whole family. A one metre wide paved shoulder has been provided for cyclists along its length. There are over 40 listed archaeological sites and at least 125 notable heritage buildings adjacent to the Parkway. For further information, please visit the following website.

County Trails

The County Trails in Lennox and Addington include nearly 600 km of circular routes where you never retrace your path, yet are able to end where you began. While you explore these trails you experience the history, natural beauty, and serenity of a portion of the Land O' Lakes region. Lennox & Addington's “County Trails” won a “Provincial Trail Builder Award” from the Ontario Trails Council. County Trails received this honour for displaying leadership in coordinating a system of trail loops and directional signage. For further information, please visit their website.

Waterfront Trail

The Loyalist portion of the Waterfront Trail comprises about 40 km of Waterfront Trail, which travels along the Loyalist Parkway. This is the newest addition to the Waterfront Trail and offers visitors lovely rural landscapes, quaint, historic villages and wonderful views of Lake Ontario. For more information, please visit the following website.
